ABOUT OUR SPIRIT GUIDES

There are two versions of the Johnny Geno story .... There is my atheist son, Bobby’s version, and then there is the “real, true, other” story of Johnny Geno. You’re welcome to choose which version suits you better. I will tell you that I never once rode a school bus until I became a teacher, but other than that, he’s not too far off. He likes to tell people that I had to walk uphill both ways in lots of snow to get to school, which, on occasion was actually true.

My atheist son, Bobby’s version of how Johnny Geno, Kitty’s Spirit Guide came into being ...

“Johnny Geno is my mother's childhood imaginary friend. One day early in the morning, her mother admonished her for such childish antics. That very same morning while waiting for the big yellow bus to take her to school, she said good bye to Johnny. He left that day but was never really gone.”

You see Johnny was no ordinary childhood friend. He was the imaginary friend of a child with a stubborn streak that would make rocks look wishy washy. Had it been any other way, you wouldn't be at this site today for he would be off slaying dragons and saving damsels in distress or whatever it is imaginary friends do when no longer needed. And while that may be a fine story and noble deed, it isn't Johnny Geno's story or deed.

As mentioned, Johnny never really left. One day my mother decided to call Johnny back. It could have been a blow to the head. A viral infection. Perhaps a garbanzo bean that was a little off because it always wanted to be a snow pea. But garbanzo beans can't very well be snow peas for that would be silly and they would get beat up in legume school. I digress. Whatever the reason, HE CAME!!

Well, isn't that something! This is his story and record of deeds. Judge him as you see fit, but remember, you'll never change my mother's mind.”

The “real, true, other” version of Johnny Geno ...

Actually, Bobby is not far off - for an atheist, that is!

Well, on to reality or to my version of it as best I can figure ...

It is true that I had an "imaginary friend" from about the age of two until about the age of five, when I started school. When I asked my mother what I said to him, her reply was always that she never heard me speak out loud to him, even though she listened carefully. She would see me nod my head, but that’s all. My thinking is that he warned me not to speak, so as not to frighten my parents.

My parents were distressed that I might talk with my "imaginary friend" at school. When my mother asked me to send him away, he told me he was going "to the big house on the hill", quite possibly a description to a child describing the other side of the veil?

He didn’t reappear in my life again until I was about 50 when my daddy asked me if I remembered him. Of course I did! Daddy suggested that he might be my true Spirit Guide. Oh, wow! Was he right! He’s been with me ever since. And we grow closer each day. And Bobby is right; you’ll not change my mind.

Jimmy's Spirit Guide

Jimmy’s Spirit Guide is also an interesting story. He’s an Apache Indian named White Mocassin, because when he was born he was given white moccasins which are truly special. Kitty spent at least one lifetime as his little sister. She therefore takes the liberty of calling him White Paw, although he doesn’t countenance that from Jimmy.
